Missions

Making disciples who make disciples,
from Lakeland to the ends of the earth.
At Bethel Baptist Church, we believe that every follower of Jesus has a part to play in the Great Commission. Jesus commands His church to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18–20). That mission begins right where God has placed us and extends to the ends of the earth.

"Missions exists because worship doesn't."

- John Piper, Let the Nations Be Glad!, 35

Our desire is to see people from every nation come to know Jesus Christ and worship Him. Whether through serving our local community, going overseas, praying for missionaries, or giving to support gospel ministry, we all have a role to play.

Some are called to go. Others are called to send. All are called to make disciples.

Local Missions

Making disciples begins right here in our own community. We want to be intentional about building relationships, serving our neighbors, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ throughout Lakeland.

How Can I Be Involved?

Not everyone is called to serve overseas, but every Christian has a role to play in making disciples of all nations. Whether you're called to go or to send, there are meaningful ways to participate in God's mission.

Pray

Pray for missionaries, unreached people groups, and opportunities to share the gospel. Ask God to raise up laborers for His harvest and open doors for the gospel around the world.

Send

Support gospel ministry through faithful giving and by helping send missionaries to the nations. Your generosity helps make it possible for others to take the gospel to places where Christ is not yet known.

Go

Look for opportunities to make disciples wherever God has placed you. Whether serving in Lakeland, participating in a short-term mission trip, or pursuing long-term missionary service, be willing to go wherever God leads.
